Our VisTab review
VisTab is not a traditional time clock: it is a visitor management system that replaces the paper sign in book at reception. Visitors, contractors and staff sign in on a tablet kiosk or by scanning a QR code, badges are printed, and hosts are notified.
For schools it is excellent, which is why it wins our "best for schools" category. Inductions, screening questions, watchlist checks and a battery backed kiosk all suit a school office well.
It is not built for payroll timesheets, so pair it with a proper time clock if you need to pay hourly staff from it.

Looking for something simpler?
Timeclock.Kiwi was built by people who were fed up with time clocks that take three screens and a training session to use. Staff tap their name and a PIN on any tablet, a photo is taken in the background, and hours export straight to your payroll. You pay per kiosk, not per employee, from $5 a month.
Free for 3 months, no credit card required.
